Large fire rips through London spa and hotel

Over 100 firefighters with 15 engines battled a blaze which began on the evening of the 30th April in a luxury spa and hotel in Richmond, south-west London.

Dramatic footage showed smoke billowing into the sky as flames tore through the Richmond Harbour Hotel and Spa in Richmond Hill.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) confirmed the fire in an annexe building spread through the roof in addition to the third floor of an adjoining hotel. As the fire brigade tackled the fire, residents and local businesses were urged to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke, which was billowing from the spa building where the fire was raging . At the height of the fire, flames consumed half of the roof of the four star spa and hotel.

There were no reports of injuries, and the cause of the blaze is not yet known.
